A Milestone in Joint Reconstruction: First Surgery Completed with New Physica™ CR Porous Femoral Component
Enovis Surgical is proud to announce the successful completion of the first clinical case using the new Physica™ CR Porous femoral component. The surgery was performed on 27 August 2026 by Dr Alessandro Tripodo at San Camillo Hospital, Forte dei Marmi (Italy). This surgical milestone marks the official clinical debut of our latest addition to the Physica™ system family.
Designed as a direct extension of the Physica™ system, the new CR Porous femoral component has been engineered to increase confidence in fixation while enhancing secondary fixation when implanting a Medial Congruent design. It is fully compatible with the well-established Physica™ LMC liner and the Physica™ TT Trabecular Titanium tibial plate to provide a complete cementless solution.
Available now for the entire portfolio, the Physica Porous is Porous Ti coated with foam like plasma spray and blasted with Calcium Phosphate powder, resulting in an innovative design with nano, micro and macro roughness improving the femoral cementless stability.
Reflecting on the successful surgical outcome and the performance of the implant in the operating room, Dr. Alessandro Tripodo shared his perspective:'The Physica cementless family is now complete. Cementless technology now meets the LMC design, combining restored kinematics with a reduced surgical time'.
