ASTRA® Arvis® Expands European Rollout with First Swiss Shoulder Cases

Following the successful European launch of the ASTRA® Arvis® shoulder system, Enovis is proud to announce another significant milestone: the first ASTRA® Arvis® shoulder procedures in Switzerland. Prof. Andreas Müller and Prof. Claudio Rosso in Basel completed their first ASTRA® Arvis® cases in Switzerland, and the second to forth cases in Europe, including the world's first anatomic procedure pairing the Affinis Glenoid Vitamys Uncemented with ASTRA® Arvis®.

These procedures mark the first use of the wearable augmented reality platform in Swiss shoulder arthroplasty.

Designed specifically for shoulder surgery, ASTRA® Arvis® provides hands-free augmented reality guidance within the surgeon's field of vision. This supports surgical planning and intraoperative decision-making, while also integrating seamlessly into operating room workflows.

As the first surgeons to perform ASTRA® Arvis® shoulder procedures in Switzerland, Prof. Müller and Prof. Rosso reflected on their experience and the role of augmented reality technology in shoulder surgery.

Prof. Müller said: "Augmented reality-assisted navigation marks an exciting new era in shoulder arthroplasty, allowing us to achieve unprecedented levels of precision and reliability. By combining intraoperative navigation data with clinical outcomes, we are taking a major step towards the future of truly personalized shoulder replacement".

Prof. Rosso commented: "Navigation with Augmented Reality is next level in Shoulder Arthroplasty. ASTRA Arvis combines navigation and pre-operative planning to plan the operation and operate the plan precisely."

The introduction of ASTRA® Arvis® in Switzerland is another significant step towards expanding access to innovative technologies for shoulder surgeons across Europe.

Enovis would like to thank Prof. Müller, Prof. Rosso and their surgical teams for their collaboration and contribution to this milestone.
