Physica system

Physica system is a complete and innovative system for primary total knee replacement from Enovis, which aims to restore native knee kinematics and optimize function. Physica system offers 4 different configurations: the Kinematic Retaining (KR), the Posterior Stabilized (PS), the Lima Medial Congruent (LMC) and the Cruciate Retaining (CR).
Physica system comes with different options to suit the surgeons’ specific needs, including Enovis’s 3D printed patent technology Trabecular Titanium.

Restore Kinematic

Physica system is designed to restore the native knee movement by focusing on a kinematic respecting design.

Optimizing Function

The design aims to optimize the function of the knee to improve the outcomes following TKA.

Precision Execution

The Physica system ensures excellent functional outcomes for all patients as the surgical procedure is easy to follow and the instruments are accurate, easy to use and lead to repeatable and reproducible results. Available for all the configurations (Physica KR, CR, LMC and PS).

About

The Physica KR aims to replicate the natural knee kinematics during the entire ROM with a functional PCL.

The unique shapes of the femoral component and tibial liner guide the movement of the knee and ensure correct posterior displacement of Tibio-Femoral contact point.
The Patented unique asymmetric tibial liner and femoral component designs allow to increase mid-flexion stability by maintaining the same rectangular joint space and therefore collateral ligament isometry throughout complete range of motion.

The Physica CR, thanks to a thinner anterior flange, together with a large deep trochlear groove, permits a good patellar tracking and PTA to an enhanced quadriceps efficacy.

The Physica LMC is designed to restore the kinematics of the knee even when the PCL is damaged or deficient.
Physica LMC provides higher stability than a CR design with lower constraint and is more bone preserving than a PS design.

The Patented innovative asymmetric design of the Physica PS post & cam aims to restore the native kinematics of the knee and drive roll-back and rotation during deep-flexion.
The design also guarantees a correct stress distribution and load transmission during the entire flexion/extension cycle by allowing a wide contact area between the cam and the post at all degrees of flexion.
The design optimizes the function of the knee by considering rotational freedom, jump height and bone preservation to ensure the implant offers stability and longevity to the patient.

A multi-radius J-curve design with gradually reducing radius for Physica system femoral component helps maintaining the correct ligament balancing during the entire ROM.

Younger and more active patients require fixation options to minimize aseptic loosening in the medium to long term.
Physica Porous Femus is designed to have a primary press-fit and macro-roughness for primary stability, and the unique coating is designed to maximise secondary biological fixation to ensure long-term stability and implant survivorship. Physica Porous Femur is coated with a unique “foam like plasma spray” made from irregular sized particles of Titanium. The coating has macro, micro and nano roughness to ensure improved stability and secondary fixation.
Physica TT Tibial Plate has been developed in collaboration with HSS (Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC) to achieve an optimized design, with two pegs and one spike for primary stability.
Reliable fixation is given by the Trabecular Titanium, Enovis’ leading technology.

The design allows to be bone preserving without having a central keel or post, and an easy removal procedure with a dedicated instrument in case of needed revision.

The LMC liner is intended to be coupled with the CR femoral component.
