We are pleased to announce a significant expansion of our clinical footprint with the successful completion of the first ProMade acetabular case in Bulgaria. The procedure was performed by Dr. Yordan Valeshkov at the MBAL Heart and Brain Hospital in Pleven.
In the midst of ProMade 10th-anniversary celebrations, this milestone exemplifies our decade-long dedication to overcoming the most intricate orthopedic challenges. The case involved a 39-year-old patient presenting with a highly critical clinical history, having already undergone approximately 20 prior surgeries due to a complex dysplastic hip joint. Given the severity of the anatomical distortion, the surgical team utilized the ProMade bespoke design service. This service allowed for the development of a patient-specific acetabular component essential for restoring the patient's anatomy and providing much-needed joint stability where traditional implants were not an option.
This achievement was the result of a coordinated effort across European borders, highlighting the importance of clinical education and support:
- Expert Guidance: Prof. Boris Steno traveled from the University Hospital in Bratislava, Slovakia, to provide intraoperative expertise.
- Clinical Education: Prior to the surgery, the Bulgarian team hosted a comprehensive didactic session to ensure seamless integration of the patient-specific technology.
Entering a new market during our 10th anniversary year is a powerful testament to the legacy and the future of the ProMade portfolio. We extend our congratulations to Dr. Valeshkov, Prof. Steno, and our dedicated teams in Bulgaria and Slovakia for their commitment to #CreatingBetterTogether.
